Wingfield Reserve Basin
Stormwater infrastructure can do far more than move water. The Wingfield Reserve Basin and Millers Road project transforms a functional detention basin into a greener, more biodiverse and accessible landscape that supports both environmental performance and everyday community use.
CLOVER developed the landscape concept to complement the detailed engineering design, creating a vision for the basin that balances technical function with ecological restoration and public accessibility. Indigenous planting, habitat creation and landscape greening strengthen biodiversity while improving the resilience and environmental performance of this highly modified urban setting.
A network of accessible walking paths and open spaces encourages people to experience the landscape while increasing opportunities for recreation, education and connection with nature. The landscape framework identifies long-term priorities for greening, habitat enhancement and staged implementation, providing Council with a clear roadmap for future investment and delivery.
The result is a resilient landscape that transforms essential infrastructure into a valuable community asset while supporting the City of Port Adelaide Enfield's long-term greening and sustainability objectives.
