Bowman Park
CLOVER, together with Maverick Recreation, developed a Management Plan for Port Pirie Regional Council to guide the future of Bowman Park, a significant recreational, environmental and heritage destination near Crystal Brook.
The park brings together a rich mix of natural and cultural assets, including heritage buildings, native vegetation and gardens, walking trails and a popular nature playspace. With a varied history that has included a wildlife park and school holiday education facilities, the Management Plan considered how these existing assets and stories could be protected, interpreted and strengthened for future generations.
CLOVER mapped the park’s trails, vegetation and key features to establish a clear inventory of existing assets and identify opportunities for future use and investment. The Plan explores environmental protection and sustainability, heritage and cultural interpretation, recreation and community use, alongside opportunities for nature-based tourism, ecotourism and short-stay caravan and RV accommodation. These opportunities were carefully considered against the need to protect the park’s natural character and ensure it remains a valued place for both the local community and visitors.
