Osborne Navel Shipbuilding Precinct
CLOVER contributed landscape architecture services to this major defence and infrastructure project at the Osborne Naval Shipbuilding Precinct, working as part of a multidisciplinary team with DesignInc.
The landscape response was informed by the site’s challenging coastal conditions and highly modified environment.
Analysis of local vegetation communities, wind, hydrology, landform and soil conditions shaped a resilient revegetation and planting strategy designed to soften large scale infrastructure, strengthen the landscape setting and provide a natural buffer across the site.
A palette of predominantly endemic species was developed, including plants with traditional food uses, supported by detailed soil testing, amendment, plant procurement and establishment strategies. CLOVER also provided construction-phase services and oversight of landscape installation, with the established planting now providing a robust and thriving landscape suited to the demanding site conditions.
