Noarlunga Downs
CLOVER is the lead Landscape Architect for this landmark masterplanned community at Noarlunga Downs, transforming 22 hectares of vacant land into a vibrant new neighbourhood that celebrates its unique coastal setting. Working alongside the project team, the landscape has been shaped by the site's proximity to the Onkaparinga River, estuary, Port Noarlunga coastline and surrounding natural systems to create a distinctive identity grounded in place.
The masterplan will deliver more than 626 new homes across a diverse mix of market, affordable and social housing, supported by high-quality streetscapes, public open spaces and an interconnected network of walking and cycling links. Landscape forms the framework of the development, connecting residents to nature while enhancing liveability, biodiversity and everyday recreation.
Responding to the site's natural character, CLOVER has developed a landscape approach that incorporates indigenous planting, generous tree canopy, climate-responsive design and Water Sensitive Urban Design (WSUD) principles. Public open spaces, green corridors and ecological connections have been carefully integrated to strengthen habitat values, improve urban cooling and create welcoming places for people to gather, play and connect.
Working collaboratively with Renewal SA, the South Australian Housing Trust, the City of Onkaparinga and the wider consultant team, CLOVER is delivering landscape architecture from masterplanning through to detailed design. The project demonstrates how thoughtful landscape design can support sustainable growth, foster resilient communities and create an enduring legacy for one of South Australia's most significant infill developments.
