Karra Estate
CLOVER led the landscape design and delivery of key public open spaces within the Springlake masterplanned community at Mount Barker, helping establish the landscape character for one of the region's growing residential neighbourhoods. Working alongside Turner Securities, the project included the design of a landmark entry boulevard, neighbourhood open space, detention basin, kickabout area and a nature-based playspace that encourages recreation and community connection.
The landscape responds to the Adelaide Hills setting through a predominantly indigenous planting palette featuring River Red Gums, locally appropriate species and seasonal flowering plants that provide shade, biodiversity and year-round visual interest. A significant component of the project was the staged revegetation and stabilisation of the detention basin, creating a resilient riparian landscape that manages stormwater while enhancing environmental outcomes and long-term amenity.
As the development progressed through subsequent stages, CLOVER also prepared the landscape documentation for street tree planting and reserve landscaping throughout the existing estate. This work helped complete the public realm, strengthen the neighbourhood's tree canopy and support the final handover requirements with Mount Barker District Council.
Today, the established streetscapes, parklands and connected open spaces contribute to a welcoming residential community where landscape provides lasting environmental, recreational and social value.
