Hawthorndene Reserves

CLOVER is working with the City of Mitcham to guide the future of Apex Park, a much loved community reserve in Hawthorndene. The park brings together play, tennis, BMX, picnic and recreation spaces within a leafy setting shaped by mature vegetation and Minno Creek. The Master Plan considers the park as a connected precinct, strengthening links between existing activities while improving accessibility, amenity, safety and the relationship with the creek and surrounding reserves.

The project has been shaped through site analysis, strategic planning, visioning and community engagement, establishing a shared direction for the park before progressing into design. Community feedback has helped inform priorities for a new nature responsive playspace, improved picnic and gathering areas, connected walking paths, exercise opportunities, creek rehabilitation, car parking, public art and signage, while retaining the character and qualities valued by local users.

The project is now progressing through Concept Design, translating the broader Master Plan vision into a considered and deliverable design for the future of Apex Park.
