Bushland Park
CLOVER partnered with Adelaide Hills Council, key stakeholders and the Lobethal community to help shape the long-term recovery and future of Lobethal Bushland Park following the devastating 2019 Cudlee Creek bushfires.
Guided by the 2021 Masterplan for Recovery, the project balances environmental restoration, biodiversity, bushfire mitigation and recreation within this significant remnant bushland reserve. The strategy supports the protection and reintroduction of threatened native species, alongside improved trails, access and interpretation that encourage greater community use and connection with the park.
As part of the park’s renewal, CLOVER also developed a regional nature-based adventure playspace at Reservoir South, creating play experiences for juniors through to young teens that are integrated into the surrounding bushland setting. Accessible paths connect the playspace and open space with the wider trail network, supporting inclusive participation and encouraging visitors to explore more of Bushland Park.
Community and stakeholder engagement informed the design process, including consultation with Peramangk representatives to explore opportunities to acknowledge cultural heritage through public art, play, sculpture and interpretation. Together, the initiatives strengthen Bushland Park as an important environmental and heritage asset, community destination and hub for nature-based recreation in the Adelaide Hills
