Ardrossan Hillside

CLOVER prepared the landscape architecture design and Development Approval documentation for the redevelopment of the former Discovery Holiday Parks unit site at Ardrossan into contemporary worker accommodation. The landscape concept was designed to create an attractive, comfortable and durable environment that supports everyday living while responding to the coastal character of the Yorke Peninsula.

The design centres on a series of communal outdoor spaces that encourage relaxation and social connection, including native gardens, informal walking paths, shaded seating areas, BBQ facilities and outdoor dining spaces. Existing mature trees were retained where possible and integrated into staff courtyards, complemented by indigenous understorey planting and natural limestone paving.

A basketball court provides opportunities for recreation, while strategically located shade trees, native buffer planting and low-maintenance unit gardens enhance comfort, privacy and biodiversity throughout the development. Layered boundary planting softens the site edges and creates a greener outlook for residents, delivering a landscape that is practical, sustainable and designed for long-term performance.
